Pictures From My Cycle Tour Of Scotland

Welcome to this part of my site featuring some fantastic pictures taken during my highly successful cycle tour of Scotland During May 2009 and is also my first introduction to cycling in Scotland. The England and Scotland Border situated at Gretna Green and is my first intoduction to cycling in Scotland.

Loch Ken. This is a Spring evening in the beer garden of The Ken Bridge Hotel situated about 1 mile from the village of New Galloway.

Clatteringshaws Loch. Situated in The Galloway Forest and this scene is the offroad section of Lochs and Glens National Cycle Route 7.

Clatteringshaws Loch. This is my first taste of offroad cycling in South West Scotland on part of National Cycle Route 7.

Clatteringshaws Loch. This scene is at the western end of the Loch near Half Way Stone.

Craigencallie House. One of the most remote parts of The Galloway Forest and not far from where you meet The Southern Upland Way.

Loch Dee. This scene is on the shared route of National Cycle Route 7 and Scotlands coast to coast long distance footpath, The Southern Upland Way.

The Southern Upland Way. This scene is the eastside of Loch Trool looking torwards White Brae Top.

North Balloch. Situated northwest of Carrick Forest in the County Of South Ayrshire and one of the most remote onroad routes of this tour.

North Balloch. Another scene of the onroad route of National Cycle Route 7 and taken on my journey between Newton Stewart To Ayr.

Crosshill. Ancient weaving village situated in South Ayrshire on National Cycle Route 7 and last place of civilisation if you are heading south bound.

The seaside resort Of Ayr. This scene is on the beach looking torwards the southern direction and noted for its golden sands.

Ayr. This is the main shopping area of this seaside town and Wallace Tower in the background is one of the towns historic buildings.

Ayr. This Scene is looking into Wellington Square Gardens and is 1 of the resorts lovely conservation areas and only a short walk from the seafront.

Ayr. This scene is looking north into Cassllis Street with a distant view of 1 of Ayr's most historic buildings, St Johns Tower.

Ayr. Another seafront view of this seaside resort and this is looking towards the north end with its open green spaces.

The Pleasent seaside resort of Troon situated about 10 miles north of Ayr and is home to The Royal Troon Golf Club. This scene is at The South Beach.

Ardrossan. Situated about 30 miles north of Ayr on The West Scotland Coast and this scene is The Isle Of Arran Ferry Terminal.

The Isle Of Arran. Taken while crossing over on the Ferry and this scene is looking towards Brodick with its beautiful blue sea and hillside view.

The Isle Of Arran. This is at Brodick water front and is my most northerly distance to this day in history. Total distance from Harrogate is 270 miles

Isle Of Arran. This scene is looking north across Brodick Bay and one of my best scenes of The West Scotland Coast.

The Isle Of Arran. This scene is Brodick beach and this is the gateway holiday village to this popular West Scotland tourist destination.

Girvan. Another of South West Scotlands holiday resorts and this scene is its picturesque fishing harbour.

Girvan. This scene is on the beach looking torwards Alisa Crag situated in the North Channel

Girvan. This is looking torwards the south beach end of this seaside resort with impressive views torwards Woodland Bay.

Loch Ryan. Situated between the Rhins and the Galloway Hills and this picture scene was taken from Stranraer seashore.

Stranraer. Important Scottish Ferry Port and partly seaside town. This is also Scotland's main Ferry Terminal for Ireland passengers.

Stranraer. Waterfront scene of this Scottish seaside town and this is on the coast path looking torwards Mc Cuuloch's Point.

Stranraer. This scene is in its main town centre and taken while having a break from cycling during this tour.

Gatehouse Viaduct. Used to carry the old railway between Wigtown and Portpatrick. The line also served Loch Ken and The Galloway Forest until 1964.

Loch Granoch. Situated in the Galloway Forest and is on the offroad section of Route 7 between Creetown and Bruce's Stone.

Eyemouth. Situated on the southeast Scotland coast north of Berwick Upon Tweed and taken during the summer of 2018 on my Great North Cycle Tour.
