Photographs From My Cycle Tours During The 1980s

Welcome to this page of my site featuring a collection of old analogue pictures taken during my early cycle tours during the 1980s using my old Hanimex pocket instant camera. Times regarding technology have moved on since then but they still bring back many precious memories of when I was in my 20s. NB Some very good news for regular and new visitors to this page. I have now uploaded most of my best pictures taken from cycle tours of the North and South East of England which includes Northumberland, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and East Anglia. I also may upload more in the near future so hope you all enjoy these great memories of the none digital age.

Lindisfarne Castle. Situated on The Northumberland Coast and was Taken on a cycle tour during August 1989.

This Scene is on The Holy Island Of Northumberland's most scenic coastline and was taken during my 2nd cycle tour of this area during summer 1989.

Another spectacular scene of Northumberland's Holy Island and was taken just before cycling over the Causeway back inland.

Statue Of St Aiden situated on The Holy Island Of Lindisfarne and was taken during my cycle tour of summer 1989.

Bamburgh. Situated on The Northumberland Coast. Taken on an Easter Weekend cycle tour during 1989.

This scene is my boat trip to The Farn Island's and was taken on my first cycle tour of Northumberland during the Easter Monday of 1989.

Blanchland. Model Village situated on the Northhumberland and Durham Border of The North Pennine's and taken during my cycle tour of 1989.

The City Of Durham. Situated in North East England on the River Tyne. Taken on a weekend cycle tour during the summer of 1987.

Langdon Beck. Situated in high Durham pennines in Teesdale. Taken during a weekend cycle tour of 1989.

Alston. Situated in North East Cumbria and claimes to be England's highest market town. Taken during a cycle tour of 1987.

Lake Windermere. Situated in the Lake District in the county of Cumbria. Taken during a weekend cycle tour of 1986.

Kettlewell. Situated in the Yorkshire Dales and taken during a weekend day tour during 1985.

Helmsley. Situated on the North York Moors near Sutton Bank. Taken on a weekend day tour during Autumn 1985.

Staithes. Lovely fishing village situated 10 miles north of Whitby on the North Yorkshire Coast. Taken during a summer weekend cycle tour in 1987.

Castleton. Situated in the Hope Valley of the Derbyshire Peak District. Taken During an Easter weekend cycle tour during the spring of 1990.

Flamborough Head. Situated on the East Yorkshire Coast about 10 miles north east of the seaside resort of Bridlington. Taken during the summer of 1989

North Newbald. One of East Yorkshire's most loved villages situated about 10 miles east of Beverley and taken during a weekend cycle tour in 1987.

Beverley. Historic market town situated in the East Ridding Of Yorkshire. This scene was taken on my spring visit during 1987.

The Humber Bridge. England's longest span. This is in the viewing area and was taken on a weekend cycle tour of Lincolnshire during the summer of 1987

Barton Waterside, North Lincolnshire. This scene is looking towards Far Ings Nature Reserve on my approach over the Humber into East Yorkshire.

Wrawby. One of North Lincolnshire's picturesqe villages situated about 2 miles north east of Brigg on the A18. Taken during my cycle tour of 1987.

Lincoln. Historic City and also the Capital of Lincolnshire. Taken on a very memorable cycle tour during the summer of 1987.

Lincoln Castle. This scene is looking westerly into its grounds from the castle tower with contrasting views of the Notinghamshire coal fields.

Lincoln Castle Grounds. This scene was taken during my first ever cycle tour of Lincolnshire during July 1987.

Lincoln. This scene is looking down Steephill, The most busiest and oldest part of this lovely historic City and taken in July 1987.

Lincoln. This scene is around the Brayford Pool area of the City and was taken in July 1987 while on a weekend cycle tour.

Kings Lynn. Historic Market Town and Seaport, Situated in West Norfolk. This Scene is The River Great Ouse looking towards the Docks.

Red Mount Chapel. Situated in Kings Lynn, West Norfolk and is one of the town's most historic buildings.

This Scene is looking towards Great Bircham Windmill, Situated in West Norfolk near Castle Acre and taken during my cross country tour of June 1990.

Castle Acre. Picturesque Norfolk village with its ancient Priory Ruins. Taken on a cycle tour in the summer of 1990.

Little Walsingham. One of West Norfolks most pictureque and historic villages. Taken during a cycle tour of June 1990

Wells Next The Sea. Small seaside town and fishing port situated on the West Norfolk Coast. This scene was taken during my first visit in May 1988.

Cley Next The Sea. Situated on the West Norfolk Coast about 5 miles west of Sherringham. Taken during a cycle tour of Summer 1989.

Sheringham. My favorite of all West Norfolk seaside resorts and and I have stayed here many times on every tour during the 1980s.

Norwich. This scene is looking towards its Cathedral with its tall Spire and taken during my cycle tour during June 1990.

Norwich. This scene is in Elm Hill which I discribe as the most oldest streets of this historic City and was taken during June 1990.

Orford. Small Suffolk Seaside Town and this scene is in Pump Street and was taken during my long distance cycle tour during the summer of 1990.

Aldeburge. Seaside resort on the Suffolk Coast in The south east of England. Taken during a cycle tour of 1990.

Aldburgh. This scene is another seafront view of this lovely Suffolk seaside resort and taken during my long cycle tour of this area during June 1990.
