My Visits Of Dawlish And Teignmouth

Welcome to this part of my website featuring pictures from some of my visits of Devon. These pictures are from my visits of the holiday resorts of Dawlish and Teignmouth, at the start of The South Devon Coast and taken during the Summer of 2004/5. Dawlish is a very popular Train Spotting place as well as a holiday resort, the reason being because it is the one of the only seaside resorts to have a mainline station on the sea front, accessible from all UK Cities and attracts a lot of day trippers. Dawlish is more of a seaside village and has some nice parks and gardens. Further up the line is the holiday resort of Teignmouth, which is a family holiday resort and is steeped with a lot of  history. The nearby village of Sheldon is also worth a visit, with its festive displays and is accessible by a small ferry boat from Teignmouth. The Railway is part of The London Paddington to Penzance line and was engineered by Isambard Kingdom Brunnel.

Teignmouth. This scene is the Northern end of the resort, looking South and was taken on a walk from Dawlish during the summer of 2004.

Teignmouth. Pleasent holiday resort, with plenty of entertainment for both young and old, particlarly day trippers traveling by Rail.
