My Devon And Cornwall Holiday Photographs

Welcome to this part of my website packed with some excellent pictures from my visits of Devon and Cornwall. It is a mild warm climate compared to the North of England and has something for everyone, ranging from the rugged unspoilt country of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor to the magnificent coastline, with some of the most beautiful scenery of fishing villages and seaside resorts in the country. I go on holiday almost every year to this part of the world and I have some friends who live in the holiday resort of Torquay and a cousin who lives in the Cornish town of Hayle, situated in St Ives Bay.  

Brixham. Very pictureque seaside resort and fishing village, on the South Devon Coast in Torbay

Paignton. Very popular holiday resort, Known for its penny amusment arcades and has entertainment, for all young and old. This view is the harbour.

Torquay. More of a continental holiday resort, being situated on The English Reviera. This is in the harbour looking towards the town.

Cockington. This picturesque thatched cottage village is only 1 mile from Torquay seafont, and has regular horse and cart trips in summer.

Shaldon. Historic village, situated next to the popular holiday resort of Teignmouth, and has a regular ferry in summer, from the resort.

Teignmouth. Very popular small holiday resort, 10 miles North of Torquay and draws many daytrippers, Young and old.

Dawlish. The only holiday resort in England to have a mainline station, accessable to all parts of the country, and known as the holiday line.

Dawlish. Old fashioned holiday resort and this view is looking towards the seafront gardens, known as the lawn.

Exmouth. Very pleasent seaside resort, with long sandy beaches, situated in the mouth of the River Exe, on the start of The East Devon Coast.

Sandy Bay. Pleasent beachcombing area, situated 1 mile North of Exmouth, on the East Devon Coast.

Mousehole. Situated 2 miles South of Penzance, in Cornwall and like Robin Hoods Bay in Yorkshire, It is one of Cornwalls loveliest fishing villages.

Hayle Beach. Situated on The Cornwall Coast, near St Ives Bay. This scene is looking North East towards Godrevy Point.

Lands End. Situated on the Cornwall Coast and this scene is looking North west of the Atlantic Ocean towards the mile post and last refreshment place

St Ives. Cornwalls most popular and pictureque seaside resorts and was taken during my Spring visit during 2005.

Truro. Pleasant Historic City, situated in mid Cornwall and this scene was taken on a visit during the Spring of 2005.

Falmouth. Fishing and cargo port, situatated on the Cornwall coast, in the English Channel and this scene was taken in the Spring of 2005.

Hayle. Situated in Cornwall, near St Ives Bay and built as a Copper Mining town in the 18th Century.

Penzance. This scene is on the seafront, looking North towards The Harbour and was taken during the Spring of 2005.

Porthleven. Pleasant fishing Village on the Cornwall Coast, situated 2 miles SW of Helston and was taken in the Spring of 2005.

St Just. Situated in Cornwall, 6 miles NW of Penzance. It is the Westernmost town in mainland Britain and was a Copper and Tin mining town.

Totnes. Picturesque South Devon market town, Situated on The River Dart and is one of the gateway towns to South Dartmoor

Buckfast Abbey. Located on the edge of South Dartmoor, About one mile North of Buckfastleigh

The South Devon Steam Railway. This scene is at Buckfast Abbey Station, taken during Summer 2006

South Brent. South Dartmoor Village located on the River Avon and a good starting point for walking South Dartmoor

Brentmoor. Situated in The Dartmoor National Park. This water scene is The river Avon between Shipley Bridge and Avon Dam Reservoir.

Plymouth. South Devon Maritime City and one of South Englands most important seaport. This is looking East towards The Hoe.

Cawsand. Lovely fishing village Located in South East Cornwall and is reachable by getting the Ferry from Plymouth, With grand views over The Sound.

Gunnislake. Situated in South East Cornwall on The River Tamar. Taken during a day out on The Tamar Valley Railway from Plymouth during summer 2006.
